I had the most wonderful experience yesterday. I took one of the classes the RAC offers to our community. It was an Intro to Writing class taught by Cynthia Furlong Reynolds who is the author of many books including The Far-Flung Adventures of Homer the Hummer and Rascal Makes Mischief.
I have been writing stories since I was young but Ms. Reynolds down to earth demeanor and easy-going style made me question why I haven’t been writing daily. She gives great advice and instruction in a positive way.
I was so excited by the class I came home and looked up Writing Retreats. I also started working on a story I had put away several years ago. I guess you could say the class inspired me to get back to something I’ve always loved – writing.
Inspiration – isn’t that something we are all seeking in some form or another? The RAC is offering ten classes beginning in September including drawing, acrylic painting, fused glass, photography and creative writing just to name a few. The full list and schedule will be on our website in the next week. There are many new things happening at the RAC. You don’t need to be an artist to take a class here. As Eleanor Roosevelt said, “Do one thing every day that scares you.” We invite you to come by the RAC and be inspired. See you soon!
