A first time visitor to our theatre sent in her review and impressions of the play that she attended last week, Painting Churches, performed by the PTD Productions.

Riverside Community Theater is currently hosting a play called “painting churches”. This moving story has very relatable emotional elements such as beginning signs of Alzheimer’s Disease, expectations and friction between the family members, and the struggle of a young artisan daughter pulled between family obligation and building a career as a portraiture artist. A very poignant message and definitely worth seeing!

In the narthex of the theater is also an exhibition of family portraiture completed by local artisans, which ties in with the salient theme of the play.
