Ann Arbor Women Artists Juried Exhibit

The Ann Arbor Women Artists is a local art group with 300 members. This year’s exhibit will feature works by 46 artists, multi-media of both 2D and 3D art.
Valerie Allen (http://valerieallenart.com) is a professional artist residing in Michigan. Valerie received her BFA from University of Cincinnati. Valerie is the Curator for Studio 23 / The Arts Center in Bay City,Michigan. She is also on the faculty at Alden B. Dow Museum of Science and Art in Midland, MI and Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center in Detroit. As a Certified Working Artist for Golden Artist Colors, she gives lectures and workshops in the Midwest on arts materials. Her workshops cover topics such as Innovations in Acrylics, Painting through Thick and Thin, and The Painterly Print.
Valerie has exhibited nationally in the Chicago Biennial, New American Drawing in Santa Fe, National Collage Society Exhibit at Montserrat College of Art, “Heart Rate-The Artistic Pulse of Post-Industrial Michigan” at Buckham Gallery and “From Margin to Center: Explorations in Mixed Media” at Central Michigan University.
