The Ann Arbor Women Artists Summer Juried Exhibit in the Gallery July 2011.
L to R in the Photo: Kelly MacArthur, juror, Karen Gallup, Judith Mason-Macomber, Matruka Sherman, Lynne Whitney, Carolyn Reed Barritt, Carol Morris, and Paula Doe.
Juror’s Statement: This diverse Exhibition impressively displays the various abilities of those within the Ann Arbor Women Artists organization. There is an underlying theme of awareness and enjoyment of the everyday. Subject matter that could be considered mundane or common has been transformed into art through vital self expression and meticulous attention to detail. I commend these artists for being active participants in, and contributors to, the creative community. They have taken the initiative to experience and comment on our culture and existence.
The “Ann Arbor Women Artists” is the largest artist organization in Washtenaw county. They hold 2 or 3 juried exhibits each year and have about eight locations for non-juried shows.
Congratulations to the award winners of this exhibit!
Thank you for sharing your art at Riverside Arts Center.
