Alana Wynes is a figure sculptor and art educator. Born in Berlin, Germany, Alana lived in four countries before settling in Michigan in 2004. Working with clay has been her passion since an early age and sculpting the human figure has become her artistic specialization.
Alana studied fine arts at Wayne State University and sculpture at Escola de Belas Artes at the Universidade de Minas Gerais in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, where her work has exhibited. Her time in Brazil reinforced her desire to work with the community and sculpt people in every day life, portraying the human experience.
Wynes went on to attend the Art Institute of Chicago for her graduate studies. she worked for Chicago Public Schools as an art educator and teaching artist. currently, Alana works as a sculptor and art educator in Detroit and continues to feature her work in various exhibits.
