Natalia Harris is a published writer, a spoken word poet and an experienced public speaker. She is featured in “The Voice of Social Workers: Poets and Writers” which is the first National Association of Social Workers Michigan book.
She has also had her article entitled “Social Workers’ Anthem for 2011 Graduates” published in both the College of Health and Human Service Newsletter and the National Association of Social Workers Michigan Newsletter.
Natalia has been performing nationally as a spoken word poet since 2005. He has been a facilitator at a number of conferences devoted to spurring disussion around social justice and social welfare.
Natalia Harris received her Master’s in Social Work in 2011 from Eastern Michigan University, graduting Cum Laude, and was the recipient of the Southeast Michigan Student of the Year Award by the National Association of Social Workers, Michigan chapter. That year Natalia also received thee prestigious Outstanding Young Michigander award given by the Ann Arbor Jaycees.
Currently, Natalia works as the Check and Connect Mentor and Youth Voice Facilitator for the Student Advocacy Center of Michigan. She is the proud mother of three daughters and could be considered an avid philanthropist. Her personal experiences have served as inspiration and motivation, leading her to live a life in which she actively gives back.
