Ypsilanti Community Fundraiser: Around the World with the Ypsilanti Community Choir
This is the second biennial fundraiser presented by the Ypsilanti Community Choir. The afternoon will be filled with solos and small and large ensembles – all singing about the wonders of the fabulous places that make up this fabulous world of ours. The full choir will perform two numbers, but most of the event will spotlight the many talented members.
The choir’s mission statement dictates that their regular (December, May, August) concerts be presented free to the public. Yet, like all organizations, they have operating expenses that must be covered. Happily, many generous community members and businesses contribute to the choir each year, making it possible for them to continue their mission. But costs continue to rise, and fundraisers help keep YCC in the black.
Ariel Toews-Ricotta directs and Maria Cimarelli accompanies this 60-member group of volunteer musicians from across Washtenaw and Lenawee counties.
Tickets: $15 in advance at Haab’s Restaurant (18 W. Michigan Ave., Ypsilanti) or $20 at the door.
