Mark Pappas has been a mainstay and behind-the-scenes hero in the Ypsilanti music scene for years. He is a former instructor at EMU and host of the Old Tower Inn sessions. Mark’s music ranges from edgy sci-fi inspired anthems, to tender waltzes and ballads. This band is finally premiering music as the newly formed Blue Hues Bigband with all new arrangements.
For this debut we’ll be featuring Ingrid Racine on trumpet and Cincinnati’s Jordan Pollard on piano as well as the trombone magic of Detroiter Zoe Cutler. Other featured soloists include UM Professor of Music Andrew Bishop along with Ypsi stalwart, Kenji Lee and his faithful associate Andy Peck on the bass. Others include Jordan Rattner on guitar, Jon Blanchette on the drums…. and more!
