IFFY—independent Film Festival Ypsilanti—is back for its third season June 2nd through June 4th in downtown Ypsilanti at the Riverside Arts Center. Independent Film Festival Ypsilanti (iFFY) is an annual event that draws diverse audiences and filmmakers for mind-expanding, independently-made movies in downtown Ypsilanti, MI. IFFY strives to contribute to the cultural and filmmaking communities of Southeastern Michigan.

HAMTRAMCK, USA (Feature Film) Thursday, June 2 at 9pm

Anchored in public arts and the mayoral election, this documentary explores multiculturalism in Hamtramck and how it transforms the community and residents that call it home.

MICHIGAN-MADE (Short Films) Thursday, June 2 at 7pm

These Michigan-made short films will fire up your cinematic circuits—from animation and migration to nature and comedic satire—and put a mitten-shaped mark in your movie-going imagination.

THE UNDERGROUND PICNIC

Art videos, films and motion graphics form this collection of shorts that celebrate queer and femme filmmaker artists. A spiky lemon, a pond as a sex toy and all things outside binaries considered.

Presenting films by: Sally Clegg, Izzy Johnson, C Diaz, Charlie Vela, Xandra Ibarra, Aliyah Mitchell, Charli Brissey, Oona Taper, Cassils and more.

“BEST OF” LONDON INTERNATIONAL ANIMATION
Friday, June 3 at 7pm

A rare and animated “Best of” the 2021 London International Animation Festival! Independent animation is an art form that continues to thrive and develop as a breathtaking medley of styles, materials, techniques and production – from hand drawn, paint on glass, collage, sculpture, cut outs, puppets, abstract, sand/salt, to some of the more interesting developments in CGI – all of which can be seen in these 10 films which screened at LIAF 2021.

ACOUSTIC CONVERGENCE (Short Films) Saturday, June 4 at 9pm

A simultaneously meditative and manic reflection on nature, humanity and our physical realms through the convergence of sound, vision and motion. This selection of short films explores our terrestrial and celestial worlds with evocative sound design, unusual storytelling, and non-traditional mediums.
