Riverside Arts Center: Thankful for State Support

It is with great enthusiasm and gratitude that Riverside Arts Center learned that the state budget includes $450,000 for the renovation of our building. “The Riverside Board is sincerely thankful to Representative Ronnie Peterson for his leadership and advocacy, and to Senator Jeff Irwin for his continued support. This funding will allow significant improvements to complete the third floor and improve accessibility that will benefit our mission in providing arts and cultural opportunities to the Ypsilanti area” said Akosua Dow, Board Chair.

Executive Director Amy Fracker enthusiastically stated “this investment by the state reinforces confidence in Riverside to continue working with the creative community, organizations and businesses in our area to create amazing opportunities.”  The Center offers, promotes, and nurtures dynamic arts and cultural programs through arts education, performing arts, visual and fine arts activities, that engage the community in Ypsilanti, Washtenaw County, and the surrounding area.  Featuring a 115 seat theater, dance studio, artists studios and visual arts gallery, the Riverside Art Center has come through the Covid-19 pandemic with a renewed energy to provide unique creative experiences for the community.
