Every great invention starts with a creative spark. What will you dream up?

If you are looking for something fun and creative to do on your day off,  then join us at Riverside Arts Center for a full day of art, creativity, and Ypsilanti history.

During this no school day, you’ll discover the story of Ypsilanti’s own Shelley Hutchinson and how he helped invent the modern-day coupon booklet. You’ll explore photos and other pieces of history to see how his ideas are still part of our everyday lives.

Then, it’s your turn to become the creative advertiser. Create your own coupon for a product you invent or one that already exists. Design a logo, choose fonts and colors, create illustrations, set a price, and figure out exactly who you’re trying to reach.

By the end of the day, you’ll have your own coupon ready to share and retrofit into Ypsilanti’s past.

No School Camp Days is supported by the Kiwanis Club of Ann Arbor Foundation.

Monday, November 2nd and Tuesday, November 3rd; 9 am – 4 pm.

Off Center at Riverside Arts Center 

Ages: 6-14

$50 a day

Lunch and snacks provided.

Sign up for a single day or both days. Each day will offer a creative experience, and students attending both days will have the opportunity to continue their project or try something new.
