Deadline is February 7, 2019. Results of winning artists will be announced by February 14, 2019. You must be able to deliver your selected artwork to The Riverside Art Center in Ypsilanti, Michigan by February 22, 2019. This exhibition is in honor of Women’s History Month. Much is missing from history from the feminine perspective as so are many of the accomplishments and contributions of women to culture and society. As a woman artist, what do you have to say from a female perspective? What would you like heard? What issues are important to you as a woman? How does living in global patriarchy make you feel? Express these sentiments through your medium before there is a need to roar!
Paint it, digitize it, draw it, create it with fiber, even sculpt it. This is an all-media exhibition, however, whatever you submit must be wired and ready to hang on a wall. No 3-D work can be accepted at this time unless it is able to hang on a wall. Maximum size is 48” on the longest edge and the maximum depth is 10″.

Who Can Submit?
This is a regional call for art by women artists from Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois. While the submissions are reviewed digitally, you must be able to bring the actual selected work to The Riverside Art Center, 74 N. Huron St., Ypsilanti, Michigan 48197, by February 22nd. We prefer works be for sale, but will accept works that are not for sale. The sponsoring foundation will retain 20% of any sale.
You may submit up to three individual works of art for consideration. Works will be judged separately and on their own merits. Criteria under consideration are Concept, Composition, Technique, Execution, Elements of Design, Uniqueness, and Relatedness to our Theme.
If Your Work Is Selected:
You must bring/deliver the exact piece of art that is selected. It must arrive by February 22nd, 2019 to the Riverside Art Center. We will be hanging the exhibit the week prior to March 1st.
We will take great care with your work, however, we do not provide insurance and you must provide your own insurance to cover your work against any damage or loss. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Art As Healing Foundation, Inc., The Riverside Art Center, and all staff and volunteers involved.
We prefer works that are for sale and you must price your own artwork. The artwork will remain in the exhibition throughout the entire exhibition and any sold artwork must be picked up by the purchaser after the exhibition. Please remember that from the price that you set we will deduct 20% to go to Art As Healing Foundation. Also, 6% will be added upon the sale for Michigan Sales Tax. All unsold works must be picked up the first week of April, we can not ship them.
We will notify all participating artists of the opening reception and any other special events affiliated with this exhibition once the day and time are established.
Any works accepted into the event may be photographed and used to promote the exhibition, Art As Healing Foundation, Riverside Art Center, or future events promoted by these entities. Submission photos may also be used for these purposes.
