Solstitium: The Sun Stands Still, a juried exhibition, honors the Winter Solstice, symbolizing the turning point when days cease to shorten and begin to get longer—a moment often interpreted as a metaphorical rebirth and new beginnings. Artists were invited to interpret these themes in their own styles and mediums. We are proud to be presenting 40 works by 30 artists.

The Sun Stands Still, a 9-hour, 5-minute, and 11-second sonic immersion for the winter solstice is a new work composed by Grey Rose Grant for pump organ, chord-organs, and electric bassoon. Slowly spiraling upwards, the piece is a reminder of the light and warmth to come, as we sit in the stillness of a land of deepest shade.
